Elected MP Namal Rajapaksa arrived in Colombo to take part in the inaugural session of the 8th Parliament. "Just reached Colombo for Parliament session tomorrow. Replied a few emails before dinner" he said on Facebook.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe met today at the Presidential Secretariat during the swearing-in ceremony of Wickremesinghe. They met after an intense election ballte, in which Wickremesinghe's UNP defeated the UPFA. Despite being political rivals, they are said to be personal friends and were once for their 'meetings over black coffee' several years back. Perhaps, with the tables turned and a national government imminent, Rajapaksa was suggesting for a similar meeting.
