Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs in the United States Department of State Nisha Biswal arrived in the island earlier today.
She arrived in Flight UL 506 from London at 5 a.m. in the morning.
She is scheduled to hold talks with President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and other officials.
Biswal will be expected to discuss matters pertaining to US-Sri Lanka ties and the regional issues.
Her visit comes immediately after the visit of Hugo Swire, UK Minister of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
