Attorney General Issued Notice To Appear Before Court On KP's Wealth

Attorney General Yuwanjana Wanasundara was today issued notice to appear before court on February 5 following a writ application filed by JVP Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath.

The JVP Parliamentarian filed the writ application with the Court of Appeal against former LTTE leader Kumaran Pathmanathan alias KP on January 19.

The JVP through their petition sought an investigation into Kumaran Pathmnathan’s assets and requested court to investigate the reason as to why the former LTTE leader had ‘immunity’ under the former regime.   .

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna also alleged that the Rajapaksa family got hold of the wealth that was said to be under the control of Kumaran Pathmanathan.

However, Kumaran Pathmanathan has been maintaining silence to the allegations and has refused to comment regarding the matter to both foreign and local media.
