Chief Justice Mohan Peiris would further remain in office irrespective of the BASL's claims that he should be resigned from his position, media spokesman of the Chief Justice said today.
Attorney-at-law Wijeratne Kodippily, the person who identifies himself as the media spokesman of Chief Justice Mohan Peiris, told media that Peiris would not worry about the statements issued by the BASL.
The de facto media spokesman further said that Mohan Peiris would continue his service as the Chief Justice of the country, regardless of various media reports.
However, it has now been revealed that the "Media Spokesman" of the Chief Justice is a Navy deserter who later became a lawyer. Navy sources confirmed on Saturday that he worked as a Navy officer some years ago and he has now been listed as a deserter.
