Former Higher Education Minister S.B. Dissanayake, who even scolded the Common Candidate of the opposition in obscene language at a full-scale press conference in Colombo, has been appointed as a Vice Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP).

The decision was made by the Central Committee of the SLFP when it met last evening with President Maithripala Sirisena at the chair. It was the first Central Committee meeting of the President after he was appointed as the Chairman of the SLFP following the resignation of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Dissanayake also vowed to strip naked former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga who is now a Patron of the party.

Dissanayake’s appointment was done with the full consent of President Maithripala Sirisena

Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena was also appointed as a Vice Chairman of the party by the Central Committee.

Meanwhile, Dilan Perera and Mahinda Samarasinghe were also appointed as Vice Secretaries.
