A group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party members, including several powerful ex-Ministers, are presently at President Maithripala Sirisena's residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo 07.
Sarath Amunugama, Athauda Seneviratne, Reginald Cooray and Piyasena Gamage were among the group.
Chief Minister of North Western Province Dayasiri Jayasekera, who crossed over to the UPFA from the United National Party, are also seen among them.
Sources from the President's residence said nearly 15 Central Committee members are now with the President.
Meanwhile, Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party is now underway at the SLFP headquarters in Colombo 10, with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the chair.
Before the commencement of the meeting, a pro-Rajapaksa group carried out a protest in front of the HC against moves to oust former President Rajapaksa from the party.
