Prasanna Ranatunga, who is tipped to be appointed as the Chief Minister of the Western Province, has topped the preferential list of the Gampaha district obtaining 249678 votes. 

Nimal Lansa, who has become the second on the list, has obtained 106661 votes. Sahan Pradeep has become the third with 59892 votes and Samanmalee Sakalasooriya has secured the fourth position with 53448 votes. 

Former Parliamentarian Sarathchandra Rajakaruna's son Harshana Rajakaruna has topped the UNP list 51018 votes and Raveendra Heshan has become the second with 41654 votes. Former Deputy Minister Edward Gunasekera has become the third obtaining 29944 votes.
