Nadeesha Hemamali and Anarkalli Akarsha have not been selected from the Matara district, sources of the Elections Department told Asian Mirror. 

Pasanda Yapa Abeywardena, Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena's son, has topped the preferential votes list in Matara obtaining 76870 votes. Chandima Rasaputhra(70509 votes) has become the second on the lost while Sarath Yapa Abeywardena has become the third. 

Anarkalli has received only 8842 votes while Nadeesha has received 11006 votes.

from the UNP list, Chathura Galappaththi has become the first by obtaining 27930 votes while Gayan Sanjeewa has become second with 22271 votes.

Former JVP Parliamentarian Jinadasa Kithulegoda, who obtained 6173 votes, has been selected from the JVP for Matara.
