The Department of Excise has issued final notices to liquor manufacturers regarding unpaid taxes, urging them to settle their arrears by November 30.

According to the department, nearly 10 companies currently owe a total of Rs. 8.5 billion in taxes, with Rs. 1.8 billion of that amount due for the 2023-2024 period alone.

The Excise Department said that legal action will be taken against any companies failing to make payment by the deadline.
