Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe has been appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, effective from November 5th, 2024. The appointment was formally handed over by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, at the Navy Headquarters on November 8th.

Rear Admiral Abeysinghe, who has had a distinguished naval career, has previously held various commanding roles aboard Fast Attack Craft, ships, and at naval establishments throughout the country.

Vice Admiral Perera extended his best wishes to the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff during the ceremony.
