The Ministry of Education has announced an immediate, ministerial-level investigation into the inclusion of politically-themed questions in a school term exam paper.

In a statement, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Thilaka Jayasundara, confirmed that instructions have already been issued to relevant officials to address the issue.

The investigation focuses on five questions related to a political party that appeared in the Common General Test paper given to Advanced Level students during the second term examination at C.W.W. Kannangara Central College in the Kalutara District.

Jayasundara clarified that the controversial exam paper was prepared solely by the school and had no involvement from the ministry or any other external organization. She added that appropriate actions would be taken following a formal investigation at the ministry level.
