The National Election Commission (NEC) has summoned all district returning officers and deputy election commissioners to Colombo today for discussions regarding the upcoming general election.

According to NEC Chairman RMAL Ratnayake, the meeting will focus on key issues such as the establishment of polling stations, the vote-counting process, and the coordination of state-sector employees during the election.

He also said that training for senior election officials who will be overseeing election duties has been completed. The Commission’s members are expected to convene later today to finalize preparations.
