The Department of Immigration and Emigration has launched an online passport appointment system, allowing the public to reserve dates for One Day and Normal passport services.

From today, applicants can register via [the official portal](https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/MakeAppointments/) and book an appointment for passport submission. Registration is mandatory, and applicants must provide their National Identity Card number and a valid mobile number.

Passport applications for registered users will begin on December 4, 2024. Applicants will receive an SMS with their appointment date and must visit the designated office before noon on that date. Walk-in submissions are no longer allowed.
