Sri Lankan sprinter Merone Wijesinghe has advanced to the semi-finals of the Men’s 100m at the World Junior Athletics Championship 2024 in Lima, Peru. 

The 19-year-old secured his place with a second-place finish in Heat 4, clocking 10.55 seconds.
Nigerian athlete Okon Israel Sunday won the heat with a time of 10.48 seconds.

Merone Wijesinghe is one of 13 Sri Lankan athletes competing in the championship.
