Presidential candidate Field Marshall Sarath Fonseka has addressed a video circulating on social media depicting a sparsely attended election rally. Fonseka explained that his campaign has been focused on authenticity rather than mass mobilization. He said that no transport or incentives such as alcohol or meals were provided to gather crowds, highlighting the importance of genuine supporters over large numbers.

Fonseka stated that only 50 posters were put up the night before the rally, and loudspeakers were installed in a way that did not disturb the public. He said that every attendee, regardless of the number, holds significant value as they are loyal party supporters.

Reflecting on his political journey since 2010, Fonseka acknowledged the challenges he has faced in pushing for development, stating that it is ultimately the people's choice if they are not ready for change. Despite invitations from other political parties after resigning as Chairman of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), Fonseka has declined to join them, citing his conscience as the reason. He also commented on the video, suggesting it reflects the public’s level of political literacy.
