The department strongly advises the public to refrain from handing over money to anyone claiming to be a revenue officer without proper verification. They highlighted that legitimate tax arrears collections are conducted strictly through official written notices.

In response to these scams, the Inland Revenue Department has alerted all police stations, urging them to apprehend and take legal action against people posing as revenue officers.
