A suspect linked to the  shooting of two people, including  businessman Surendra Wasantha Perera, also known as ‘Club Wasantha,’ has been arrested by the Western Province (South) Crimes Division. The 36-year-old suspect from Dharga Town was arrested at the Southern Expressway service area on August 6 and taken to the Athurugiriya Police Station.

The suspect is accused of aiding and abetting in the murders by renting a house for the shooters and arranging transport for them from Ambalangoda to Athurugiriya. Investigations revealed that the bus used for the shooters' escape had been sold to a person in Kataragama and was subsequently seized by the authorities.

So far, eleven suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting.
