The Meteorology Department has forecasted several spells of showers for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-western provinces, as well as the Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.

Additionally, showers or thundershowers are likely in various other parts of the island during the evening or night.

Fairly heavy showers, exceeding 50 mm, are expected in some areas of the Eastern, Uva, and Northern provinces.
