Two fishing boats, Blue Ocean 02 and Blue Ocean 06, carrying nine Sri Lankan fishermen, encountered an accident in the Indian Ocean approximately 300 kilometers from Seychelles. The vessels had set sail from Dikowita port on June 30th, heading for Somalia, as part of a fishing operation organized by a Dubai-based businessman.
The accident has left the fishermen stranded without food, water, or fuel. The Sri Lankan Embassy in Seychelles has confirmed that a rescue mission is underway. A Seychelles Coast Guard vessel has reached the location, providing the fishermen with essential supplies while efforts to bring them to safety continue.
