Officers from the Matale Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested a 33-year-old man in possession of a “golden lotus flower” of significant archaeological value. The arrest occurred yesterday (01) in the Aluvihare area.

The golden lotus, weighing 706 grams and featuring 24 petals of varying sizes, was intended for sale at Rs. 5,000,000.
