The Presidential Secretariat said that the "Gaza Children’s Fund" established by president Ranil Wickremesinghe to support children affected by the conflict in Gaza will no longer be accepting donations as of July 31, 2024.
The President’s Media Division (PMD) has advised the public to refrain from making further contributions. Funds sent to the official bank account of the President’s Office after this date will be redirected towards social welfare activities.
