The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) is set to announce its candidate for the 2024 Presidential Election on Monday, July 29, according to party sources.
This decision coincides with the Election Commission of Sri Lanka issuing a Gazette notification today, confirming the election date as September 21, 2024, and the nomination acceptance date as August 15, 2024.

Meanwhile,President’s Counsel Ronald Perera has placed bonds for President Ranil Wickremesinghe to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming election.
