Two more suspects have been arrested in connection to the shooting of  Club Wasantha in Athurugiriya. The arrests occurred yesterday in the Athurugiriya and Battaramulla areas.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the suspects transported the shooter and the driver from Korathota to Welihinda in a van. He ensured their escape by getting them on a pre-arranged bus and later abandoned the van in Bulathsinghala.

The second suspect drove the pair from Welihinda to Dickwella via the southern expressway and then hid the bus in Sella Kataragama. He was also found to be in contact with an organized criminal residing overseas, and his mobile phone is now in police custody.

The suspects, aged 26 and 36, are residents of Welipenna and Ahungalle.
