Red Alert Issued for Strong Winds and Rough Seas

 

The Department of Meteorology has issued a 'Red' color advisory warning for strong winds and rough seas affecting naval and multi-day fishermen communities in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the warning, winds reaching speeds of 70-80 kmph and very rough sea conditions are expected in sea areas bounded by 10N - 23N and 55E – 72E in the Arabian Sea, and 13N - 21N and 87E – 93E in the Bay of Bengal, due to active south-west monsoonal conditions.

Naval and fishing communities are advised to avoid the affected sea areas marked in red on the map provided by the department and to return to coastlines or move to safer regions immediately.
