Rs 80 Million Allocated to Strengthen Four Rural Hospitals in Tourist Hotspots

A new initiative has been launched to enhance healthcare facilities in Sri Lanka's key tourist regions. An MOU was signed by the Ministry of Tourism, the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), and the Ministry of Health to support this effort.

The program aims to upgrade hospitals in Dambulla, Bandarawela, Pottuvil, and Tissamaharama, ensuring better medical services for foreign tourists. Each hospital will receive Rs 20 million to establish comfortable paying wards.

Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirane and Tourism Minister Harin Fernando were present at the MOU signing ceremony.
