The strike launched by doctors at the National Eye Hospital has been temporarily called off. According to Prabhath Sugathadasa, Secretary of the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA), the strike ended following the appointment of a new hospital director.

Earlier today, doctors at the National Eye Hospital initiated the strike by withdrawing from patient care in protest against the alleged inappropriate behavior of the former Acting Hospital Director.
