President Ranil Wickremesinghe has submitted a Cabinet paper proposing the formation of a committee to conduct threat assessments on Presidential candidates and former Presidents.
In his proposal, President Wickremesinghe has recommended appointing a Deputy Inspector General of Police to oversee the security arrangements.
