The Department of Meteorology has forecast continued windy conditions across the island due to the active South West Monsoon. Showers or thundershowers are anticipated in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

Fairly heavy showers, approximately 50 mm, are likely in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

Additionally, strong winds reaching 50-60 km/h are expected over the western slopes of the central hills and in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, including Trincomalee, Monaragala, and Hambantota districts.
Other areas of the island may experience fairly strong winds around 30-40 km/h.
