Operations at government universities and higher education institutions will return to normal today after a 75-day strike by non-academic staff. The strike, which was initiated over demands such as salary discrepancies, significantly disrupted activities at these institutions.

The University Trade Union Committee, co-chaired by Dhammika S. Piyantha, said the suspension of the strike following an agreement with the University Grants Commission. This resolution marks the end of a prolonged period of disruption, allowing university operations to resume their regular schedule.
