A violent altercation at a musical show in the Morayaya area of Weeraketiya has resulted in the death of one individual and injuries to five others.

The incident occurred when a dispute arose between a vendor and a group of attendees, prompting an organizing committee member to intervene. The intervention led to an escalation, with the organizing committee members attacking the group, one of whom used a sharp weapon.

The deceased, a 30-year-old male, succumbed to his injuries at Weeraketiya Hospital. The five injured individuals were hospitalized in Tangalle and Embilipitiya, though their injuries are reported as non-serious.
