Sri Lanka Railways announced that train operations are returning to normalcy. The Railway Control Room confirmed that many long-distance trains have resumed services after a strike by station masters and controllers was called off at midnight on Thursday, July 11.
The strike, which disrupted train operations on Wednesday and Thursday, was resolved following discussions with transport officials. The meeting was chaired by Minister of Transport and Highways Dr. Bandula Gunawardana and attended by State Minister Lasantha Alagiyawanna, with mediation by former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
