Foreign Secretary to Visit U.S. for U.S

 

Foreign Secretary Aruni Wijewardane will make an official visit to the United States to attend the 05th U.S.-Sri Lanka Partnership Dialogue on July 12, 2024. The event will take place at the U.S. Department of State.

The dialogue will be co-chaired by Wijewardane and John Bass, the Acting Under Secretary for Political Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The discussions will cover various aspects of U.S.-Sri Lanka bilateral relations, including economic, defense and security cooperation; democracy, reconciliation, and human rights; climate change; science and technology cooperation; education and cultural cooperation; and people-to-people contacts.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the United States Mahinda Samarasinghe, along with officials from the Sri Lankan Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will also participate in the dialogue.
