The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, and Local Government has announced a significant increase in the monthly allowance for government executive officers. Effective from the 1st of July, the allowance will rise by Rs. 10,000, bringing it from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000.

The decision follows ongoing deliberations regarding government employee compensation. A circular detailing the adjustment was issued on Thursday (27).

The joint committee representing government executives has expressed disappointment, citing that the raise falls short of their expectations and does not fully meet their demands.
