Four suspects, including two teenagers, have been arrested on charges of printing and possessing counterfeit currency notes. A 17-year-old boy from Nochchiyagama was arrested on Tuesday with six counterfeit Rs. 500 notes. A search of his house revealed several pieces of equipment used for printing fake currency.

Further investigations led the Thambuththegama Police to arrest three more suspects on Wednesday. These individuals, aged 19, 49, and 54, were found with eight counterfeit Rs. 5000 notes and 149 counterfeit Rs. 500 notes. The suspects are residents of Hettipola.

The Thambuththegama Police are continuing their investigations.
