The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal for the Sri Lanka Army to undertake renovation activities at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Sports Complex in Diyagama. This decision, initially approved in January, includes both ongoing projects and new sub-projects.

The renovation plan involves constructing roofs for the second viewing pavilion of the junior sports auditorium and the new athletics ground. The proposal was submitted by the Minister of Sports and received Cabinet approval.
