CID to Seek Court Order Against Courier Company Linked to Actress Piumi Hansamali's Beauty Products Company

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is to seek a court order to compel a statement from the management of the courier company that distributes Piumi Hansamali's beauty products. This decision follows the company's refusal to cooperate with the ongoing investigation into Hansamali's wealth.

The CID's investigation, led by the Illegal Assets Investigation Division, has uncovered significant details regarding the acquisition of high-value assets by the actress. According to the division's findings, the Range Rover Jeep used by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was purchased for 80 million rupees. Additionally, Hansamali acquired a luxury house in a prestigious housing complex at Ward Place, Colombo 7, for nearly 150 million rupees.

The court has already granted permission to investigate 19 bank accounts linked to Hansamali and her close relatives as part of the probe. These accounts are being scrutinized for any signs of illegal transactions or unexplained wealth.
