The maiden rally of Sarwajana Balaya, a coalition formed by four nationalist parties, concluded with disappointing results due to poor crowd participation.
Held yesterday in Nugegoda, the rally failed to attract the anticipated audience, reflecting a lack of enthusiasm among potential supporters.
Despite high hopes and significant promotion, the rally saw only a modest turnout, far short of the expected numbers. The organizers had envisioned strong support from the 6.9 million voters who were targeted, but the response was tepid.
Businessman Dilith Jayaweera, along with former Ministers Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila, were among the key speakers at the event. They addressed the sparse crowd, reiterating the coalition's vision and goals. However, the low attendance overshadowed their messages, casting doubt on the coalition's ability to mobilize public support.
