The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) has announced an indefinite interruption in the water supply for Godagama, Homagama, Pannipitiya, Pelanwatta, Rukmalgama, and Mattegoda.
This disruption follows an accident early this morning, in which a car veered off the road and collided with a transmission pipeline from the Kalatuwawa Treatment Plant near High-Level Road in Godagama.
The collision caused significant damage to the pipeline, leading to a burst and subsequent interruption in the water supply. Authorities are working to repair the damage and restore water service as soon as possible.
