The Sri Lanka Railway Station Masters’ Union has decided to temporarily suspend their planned strike action until next Tuesday, June 18. This decision was announced by the Union President, Sumedha Somaratne, following a discussion with the General Manager of Railways.
Somaratne reported that while some demands were positively addressed, key issues such as promotions remain unresolved. He highlighted a contradiction between a Cabinet paper and a Ministry letter, which the Acting Minister identified during the discussions.
A correction has been approved and is expected to be addressed in the Public Service Commission meeting on Tuesday.
