Sri Lanka Railways Cancelled 20 Morning Trains

Sri Lanka Railways announced the cancellation of 20 office trains scheduled for this morning due to an ongoing strike by train drivers. The strike, now in its fourth day, is driven by issues such as salary disputes and the lack of promotions and recruitment.

Deputy General Manager of Railways, N. J. Indipolage, mentioned that a crucial discussion with the train drivers' trade union members is set to take place today at 12 noon at the Ministry of Transport. The outcome of this meeting may determine the resolution of the strike and the resumption of regular train services.
