On Thursday evening(06) President Ranil Wickremesinghe chaired a meeting with the government's parliamentary group. The primary focus of the meeting was to deliberate on the future political situation of the country.

In his address, President Wickremesinghe said the necessity for collaborative efforts among all members. The meeting saw the attendance of 31 members of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), along with the chairmen of the district coordination committees.

Absent  from the discussion were SLPP National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa and SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam, as confirmed by political sources.
