Three individuals, including the child's parents, were arrested early Wednesday morning in connection to a widely circulated video depicting the brutal assault of a young child. The arrests occurred in Arisimale, Pulmoddai, during a coordinated operation involving the Welioya Police, Mullaitivu Crimes Investigation Division, and the Pulmoddai Police Special Task Force.

The child, a 4-and-a-half-year-old, is now under police care. The arrested individuals include the child's 37-year-old mother, 45-year-old father, and the father's 46-year-old mistress.
