12 Lives Lost in Sri Lanka Due to Adverse Weather Conditions

 

Sri Lankan authorities have confirmed that 12 people have died due to severe weather conditions that struck the country over the weekend. The fatalities include four in Matara, five in Ratnapura, and three in Seethawaka, Colombo.

State Minister of Defence Premitha Bandara Tennakoon announced on Monday morning that five individuals are still missing and will not be considered deceased until their remains are found.

Across 23 districts, a total of 87,379 people from 23,723 families have been impacted by the adverse weather. In response, Rs. 122 million has been allocated to District Secretaries to provide relief to those affected.
