Sri Lankans Can Now Stay in Thailand for 60 Days Without a Visa

Thailand has announced that Sri Lankan citizens can now stay in the country for up to 60 days without needing a visa. This update is part of a broader initiative approved by the Thai Cabinet on Tuesday (28), which includes visa waivers for a total of 93 nations.

The Foreign Ministry of Thailand released the updated list on Wednesday (29), highlighting the expanded visa-free access aimed at encouraging more international visitors. Sri Lanka is among 17 new countries added to the list for visa on arrival, which now grants a 60-day stay.

Previously, 57 nations enjoyed a 30-day visa-free stay in Thailand, which has now been extended to 60 days. Additionally, 13 other nations, which were receiving a 30-day stamp upon arrival, will also benefit from the new 60-day policy.

Thailand’s move to extend visa-free stays reflects its efforts to attract more tourists and stimulate the local economy through increased tourist spending.
