Sri Lanka's State Minister of Finance, Shehan Semasinghe, and Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe, recently attended the Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable.
The event, organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and G20, aimed to expedite debt issue resolutions globally, addressing concerns from both creditor and debtor nations. State Minister Semasinghe highlighted the significance of this collective effort in his statement, emphasizing its potential to streamline debt resolution processes. Additionally, he had a meeting with IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva to discuss further collaboration and strategies.
