State Minister of Home Affairs, Ashoka Priyantha, revealed that 2002 Grama Niladhari officers are set to be appointed before the end of April. Interviews for the vacancies in the Grama Niladhari Divisions are currently underway, with selected candidates expected to be finalized soon.

Speaking at a press briefing at the Presidential Media Centre on the theme 'Collective Path to a Stable Country', Priyantha highlighted President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s agenda, emphasizing its potential to drive significant improvements in the country’s economy and overall well-being.

He also mentioned the drafting of the Grama Niladhari Constitution, addressing primary concerns of Grama Niladhari officers, which has been presented through a cabinet paper and awaits approval by the Cabinet of Ministers.
