More than 250 youths from Jaffna have applied to join the Sri Lanka Air Force during the 'Air Tattoo 2024' educational and technological exhibition, held in Jaffna to commemorate the SLAF’s 73rd anniversary.
The 'Air Tattoo', hosted at the Muttraweli Ground, served as both an educational platform and a display of renewed interest in the Air Force from Jaffna's youth. The event concluded with Senior Adviser on National Security to the President, Sagala Ratnayaka, addressing the media as the Chief Guest.
Ratnayaka noted a significant shift in the community's perception of the Air Force, with over 100 aspiring officers and 156 seeking other ranks. He encouraged Jaffna residents to join the SLAF and emphasized the government's commitment to developing the region, including initiatives in tourism and manufacturing industries.
