State Minister Sanath Nishantha and his Police Security Officer (PSO) Constable Jayakodi lost their lives in a fatal accident on the Katunayake Expressway.

The incident occurred when the minister's vehicle collided with a container, ultimately striking the expressway fence. The driver of the vehicle is currently undergoing medical treatment.

The police, in an official statement, confirmed the demise of State Minister Sanath Nishantha and Constable Jayakodi in this tragic accident.
