The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has interdicted a total of 15 clerical staff responsible for cash counters, following their alleged involvement in closing the counters during a recent trade union action.
The move comes in response to widespread inconveniences faced by consumers attempting to pay their electricity bills.
The interdictions were announced by a CEB spokesman highlighting the severe consequences for disrupting essential services.
The recent trade union action within the CEB led to the closure of cash counters, causing inconvenience to consumers who rely on these facilities to settle their electricity bills.
