Public Security Minister Tiran Alles Warns Against Protests, Vows Strict Measures in Colombo

In a stern warning to protestors, Public Security Minister Tiran Alles issued a strong statement yesterday during a press conference, cautioning against the organization of any protest sites. Minister Alles asserted that the police would not tolerate such activities and emphatically stated that they would never allow anyone to stage protests.

Highlighting the potential consequences, Minister Alles referenced the mass street protests in 2022 that led to the ousting of former President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. He emphasized that a recurrence of such a situation would not be permitted under any circumstances.

During the press conference, Minister Alles addressed the media and the public, emphasizing the government's stance on public protests in Colombo. He underscored the need for law and order and warned of strict actions that would be taken by the police to maintain public security.

"The police will not tolerate any attempts to create protest sites, and we will never allow anyone to disrupt the peace and stability we have worked hard to achieve," stated Minister Alles.
